The Murugan Gayatri mantra is a powerful and divine mantra which give protection for its reciter. The mantra is also believed to negate all kind of ill effect and black magic.

To receive the full benefit of this mantra, recite it on all full moon days of the year (Pournami / Purnima) or on Tuesdays.
The mantra should be recited at either the dawn or the dusk for best results.
There is a specified number of times that the mantra must recited. Accordingly it is regarded auspicious to Chant the mantra 11, 108, or 1008 times.
The Murugan gayathri mantra can be recited by anyone regardless of specifications like gender and age.
People can worship by chanting this revered mantra in front of the sacred Murugan Yantra or before an image of the Lord.
To Attain Mantra Siddhi: The mantra should be chanted 108 times in 48 days (one mandala).
Chant Murugan Gayatri Mantra Facing: One should recite this mantra facing the direction east.
Naivedya / Prasadham (Food Offerings): Panchamirtham (also spelled as Panchamirdham, Panchamrutham, or Panchamrit) which is a mixture of mashed bananas, jaggery, raisins, cashew nuts, and dates. Apart from that, you can also offer sweet food items or fruits.
Flowers for Murugan Gayatri: Any flower, more preferably fragrant red coloured ones can be offered for worship.
Japa Mala: Rosary beads made out of clear quartz (spadika mala ) or Rudraksha mala or Tulasi mala (rosary beads made out of the bark of basil) can be ideally used.
