Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple Issue

Hindu Munnani plans a mass protest on February 4 2025, to protect Thiruparankundram Hill, a sacred Hindu site, from alleged encroachments and religious unrest.

Now it is the time for us (Devotees) to pay our gratitude and thanksgiving to Lord Muruga by safeguarding the holiness and significance of the great Thiruparankundram Hills and by the way of joining hands with thousands and thousands of Murugan devotees to sort out the Thiruparankundram Hill Temple issue.

A grand protest is scheduled to take place on 4 February to protect the Thiruparankundram hill, a sacred site for Hindus and the first base of the six armies of Lord Murugan. The protest has been organised by the Hindu Munnani, a Hindu organisation, in response to alleged attempts by Islamic groups to encroach upon the hill and create religious unrest.

According to Kadeshwara Subramaniam, the state president of the Hindu Munnani, Thiruparankundram Hill is one of the holiest sites for Hindus, with its significance documented in ancient Tamil literature, including Thirumurukatrupadai, Kalithogai, Maduraikkanchi, and Paripadal. The hill is also home to the Thiruparankundram Murugan Temple, one of the six abodes of Lord Murugan.

Subramaniam alleged that Islamic groups have been attempting to encroach upon the hill and foment religious unrest by planning to slaughter a goat and perform kanduri at the dargah located there. He also accused the Tamil Nadu government of maintaining a “false silence” on the issue and failing to take proper action to prevent the encroachment.

The Hindu Munnani also condemned the actions of DMK MLA Abdul Samadhu and Ramanathapuram DMK MP Navaskani, who recently visited the hill, claiming they were inspecting the area. Subramaniam alleged that the two leaders were accompanied by members of terrorist organisations, describing their visit as a “planned conspiracy” to incite religious unrest.

Subramaniam was particularly critical of Navaskani, whom he alleged had consumed non-vegetarian food in front of a small Murugan temple located at the foot of the hill. He accused Navaskani of desecrating the sanctity of the hill and urged the Tamil Nadu government to take action against him.

If you take a dip in your temple pond, I feel like I have taken a dip in the holy river Ganges; When I take a kavadi I feel like I have gone around the world; When I taste your holy prasad item, I feel like I have tasted divine nectar.

Lord Mururga had showed his braveness in front of the Demons like Surapadman, Singamugasuran and Singamuki, and he also had got married with Mata Valli and Mata Devasena after proving his spiritual powers.  After living a noble life in the Holy Kailasha for many years, finally he moved to the beautiful Skanda Loka.
