Muneeswaran is a Hindu God who is worshipped as the family deity of people mainly in the Indian States of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka. The name Muneeswaran is the combination of “Muni” which means “Saint” and “Eshwaran” which means the “Lord Shiva”, the highest of all Gods.

Jada Muni is full of the aspect of the Lord Shiva. That is to say, this Jada Muni (has braided hair) is the one who blesses the devotees in the form where his whole body is covered with fiery ashes, wearing a serpent around his neck and displaying various weapons in his hand thereby looking in the form of the Agora. Hence, Jada Muni, who matches the whole aspect of the Lord Shiva, was endowed with miraculous powers, which are enough to take the life of the Lord Yema by his own feet.
